Sometimes unfortunately we cannot restore items and they require disposal. With new government legislation regarding disposal of items such as fridges and sofas etc the way these are dealt with have changed. The environmental impact on landfill of these products has become far more regulated.

Electrical and electronic equipment ( EEE ) is regulated to reduce the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment ( WEEE ) incinerated or sent to landfill sites. Reduction is achieved through various measures which encourage the recovery, reuse and recycling of products and components.
POPS
Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) are certain chemical substances that are known to stay intact and do not break down. If waste containing these is not managed responsibly, they have the potential to cause damage to the wider environment.
